Macro Photography
Macro photography encourages a different pace. It asks for patience, quiet focus and a willingness to look closely at the smaller worlds that exist around us. Insects, plants and natural textures take on a new presence when viewed up close, revealing details that shape how I experience the landscape. Working in the woodlands, wetlands and meadows of East Yorkshire, I try to approach these subjects gently, allowing behaviour, light and structure to guide the photograph rather than force it.
I’ve written more about this close-up way of working in a recent post, which you can find here.
