Fine Art Print Care Instructions
To ensure your fine art print from Alan Young Photography stays in the best possible condition for many years, please follow these recommended care guidelines.
Print Care Instructions

Handling Your Print
• Handle prints with clean, dry hands or use cotton gloves.
• Avoid touching the printed surface directly.
• Keep the print flat when unwrapping and avoid bending.
• If framing, keep the print protected until sealed behind glass.

Framing Recommendations
• Use acid-free mounts, backing boards and tapes to preserve longevity.
• Choose UV-protective glass or acrylic to minimise fading.
• Ensure the frame is fully sealed to protect against dust and moisture.
• Avoid placing prints directly against glass without a mount.

Where to Display Your Print
• Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
• Avoid humid areas such as bathrooms or kitchens.
• Maintain a stable room temperature and low humidity for long-term preservation.
• Keep prints away from radiators or heat sources.

Cleaning and Maintenance
• Do not wipe the printed surface.
• Clean framed prints by gently dusting the glass only.
• If the mount or glass becomes marked, remove it carefully and clean only the non-print areas.

Archival Quality
All prints are produced using archival inks and professional fine-art papers, designed for long-lasting colour stability and exceptional detail. With proper care, your print can last decades without noticeable fading.
